COVID-19 dramatically changed the 2021 School of Whitewater Paddling but we are hoping for a more normal event in 2022. We encourage you to check this page regularly for any updates. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as reasonably possible. We will also share any significant changes to our COVID-19 plan on the Club's Facebook Page.
We are not capping attendance at this time. If that changes, we'll post here and on our ACC Facebook page.
We highly encourage attendees to be vaccinated and boosted before attending Whitewater School. You however will not be required to be vaccinated to attend.
We currently have no plans to do health screenings. It should go without saying that if you are positive with COVID-19 or suspect you may be, we want you to stay home. If you recently tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that at least 7 days have past since your positive test, and you have no symptoms.
There will be those in attendance who are unvaccinated. For their protection and yours, we ask that you wear face masks when indoors or when you are in close contact with one another. Primarily, this should mainly be while you are in a vehicle with others.
We will have hand sanitizers around camp but please bring your own too.
We will have a number of Porta-Potties on site and keeping these clean are important. We will have disinfectant available and we will be cleaning them throughout the weekend. We will also likely want to keep the doors open when they are not in use to allow fresh air to circulate. While it may sound silly, we will also ask males to consider peeing in the woods vs using the Porta-Potties. We will have a hand wash station this year near the porta-potties.
We MAY have a his and hers portable shower set-up this year. That is still TBD. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own personal "solar showers" like this. They work remarkably well. Alternately, there are showers available at the Turner Bend Store 1/2 mile away.
