School of Whitewater Paddling

Basic Information

Arkansas Canoe Club’s School of Whitewater Paddling is an opportunity for you to learn how to enjoy whitewater, to build your skills and knowledge, and to have fun. Contained in these pages is information regarding the school and should be read by each person registering for the school.

When:  May 5-7, 2017

Where:  The Mulberry River at Turner Bend

Turner Bend is a privately owned campground and open to school participants, Instructors, and volunteers. The campground is located near Cass, Arkansas on Highway 23, approximately 11 miles south of Highway 16, and 13 miles north of I-40 at exit 35/Ozark. The GPS coordinates are N 35° 40.091' W 093° 49.703', WGS 84.

Cost:  You must be a current member of the Arkansas Canoe Club before you can register for the School of Whitewater Paddling. ACC Household Membership (covers all your immediate family living in your household) costs $25 per year (multi-year memberships are also available). If you have multiple members of your immediate family covered by a Household Membership are applying for the school, only one ACC membership is required. We also offer a Junior/Student membership for those under 25 years old. If you are not already a member of the ACC, please visit the Membership section of our website.

The course fee for the School of Whitewater Paddling is $90, which includes a $5 American Canoe Association event fee.

If you are a current American Canoe Association (ACA) member and can show your ACA membership card at check-in, then you are eligible for a $5 coupon good toward the Saturday night fish fry OR Sunday morning pancake breakfast. Registration: The following is required to register for the School of Whitewater Paddling:

  1. Completed Event Registration (completed online at this website)
  2. Receipt of Event Fee, which we strongly encourage you to pay via PayPal when you submit your online registration.
  3. Receipt of a SIGNED ACA Waiver and Release of Liability
  4. Receipt of a Participant Health Form 
  5. Receipt of a Medical Release Form (if a participant is under age 18) 

Your paperwork - Waiver, Participant Health Form and Medical Release Form (if applicable) all must be sent via U.S. mail to:
