SCHOOL OF WHITEWATER PADDLING
The ACC School of Whitewater Paddling is an opportunity to learn how to enjoy whitewater, to build skills and knowledge, and to have fun.
When: May 3-5, 2019
Where: The Mulberry River, based at Turner Bend
Turner Bend is a private campground the ACC reserves for the weekend. It is located near Cass, Arkansas on Highway 23, approximately 11 miles south of Highway 16, and 13 miles north of I-40 at exit 35/Ozark.
ACC Membership: You must be a current member of the Arkansas Canoe Club to register. An ACC Household Membership (covers all your immediate family living in your household) cost $25 per year. If you have multiple members of your immediate family applying for the school, only one ACC membership is required. We also offer a Junior/Student membership for those under 25 years old. Cost: Paddling school registration during March will be $80 and registrations in April will be $100.00. The Stand Up Paddleboard class led by NW Chapter President and ACC Instructor, Rob Moody is $50.00 as it is now a one day only class on Saturday. All participants must register online. Registration includes a $5 American Canoe Association event fee.
If you are a current American Canoe Association (ACA) member and can show your ACA membership card at check-in, then you are eligible for a $5 credit coupon good toward the cost of the Saturday night fish fry OR the Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast. NEW THIS YEAR! Anyone camping at Turner Bend who is NOT a confirmed, dues paying ACC member will need to check in and pay the ACC a $10.00/night camping fee.
Participants must be at least 12 years old to enroll in paddling classes and 14 years old to enroll in the Swiftwater Rescue course.
