Schedule
Normal check-in begins about 2:00 PM Friday afternoon at the Turner Bend Campground Gazebo and ends about 8:00 PM Friday evening.
Late check-in is with the School Director in the campground.
Everyone - participants, instructors and staff - must check in and be on the approved school roster before joining a class on the water.
Classes begin about 7:00 PM
Friday at the Gazebo with a meeting of the whole school. After the group meeting, we will break into classes with your instructors. Any late arrivals and those unable to attend the Friday night session need to check-in at the School Director's campsite.
On
Saturday, students will have instruction on both land and on the water during the day. Instructors will set the meeting time and place for Saturday morning, but classes typically will start at 8:00 AM (some may convene earlier or later).
Saturday evening at about 7:30 PM the Arkansas Canoe Club's general business meeting and election of officers
will be held directly next to Fish Fry in the main campground. This meeting is open to everyone and you are encouraged to attend!
Sunday is spent with further instruction with the school ending sometime Sunday afternoon.
Two Meals are available during the weekend at extra cost:
- Saturday evening a fried fish dinner is sponsored by the NW chapter of the ACC (prior to the general business meeting). Enjoy fried catfish, coleslaw, beans, and hushpuppies after your day on the water!
- Sunday morning, the River Valley chapter of the ACC will provide a pancake breakfast for $7. Hot pancakes, sausage, orange juice and fresh coffee will prep you for your second day on the water!
Both meals are an excellent, low cost way to make the weekend even more enjoyable!
